“For You have been a refuge for me,
a tower of strength against the enemy."

Dear Friends,

Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus; that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. ...Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:5-6,13

Wow what a winter this has been!!  It has been packed with so much of the goodness of God and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit with all who have come through these doors.  Participation in the ministry continues to grow and we pray for guidance as to where God would have us move.  Presently, it looks as if we have a good prospect for moving to a larger facility.  We are praying and asking God to work out the details as we pursue its acquisition.  Hopefully we will be able to announce our new location in our next newsletter.  God has done exceedingly over and beyond what we could ask or imagine and we praise Him for His goodness and guidance.  He, alone, knows where He wants us and we trust Him to open and close doors as He sees fit.

We had our 2nd annual Groundhog Run on February 7th, we had a great turn out and lots of fun.  The funds raised will greatly help us move forward in our expansion.  The weather was a blessing, considering the ice storm we had the week before.  This truly helped our turn out.  I so want to thank all our volunteers, we could not have pulled it off without them.  I especially want to thank our Run Board!  WOW, what a terrific bunch of servants; especially two of them whom I will not mention.  I don't want to take away what God has in store for them.

We are pleased to announce that we have a new addition to our ministry- our new web site, www.thewingsofrefuge.org.  As you know it is the heart beat of this ministry to provide a safe and loving place to heal.  The initial call for an appointment is often, though, delayed by the prospective ministry receiver because Satan's own fear of exposure is expressed as delay, forgetfulness, intimidation, and fear.

Our new website creates for us an even safer manner in which to learn what the ministry does, and why it exists, as well as offering a safe and easy first contact experience.  Created for us and lovingly donated by TugBoat Studio, a Louisville advertising, marketing and creative arts company, the new website can be accessed at www.thewingsofrefuge.org.

The website is a work in process.  Thankfully, TugBoat Studio was able to get the site up and going, on very short notice, before our Groundhog Run.  We would love for you to take a look at our website and offer us any comments or suggestions.  It is our desire that in everything we do that honor and glory be brought to God.  So we would love for you to study the site and tell us if it brings to you a clear and concise summary of the heart of this ministry, the heart of God healing His children.

Please join with us in prayer that each person visiting the website will feel God's heartbeat of love for them, no matter where they think they are in relationship with Him.  Please pray that they will feel God reaching out to them from their computer screens and that hope for true freedom will rise up within them.

This ministry depends on the Holy Spirit to speak to the hearts of each ministry receiver.  Much prayer goes before each and every appointment for "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing."  True and lasting healing comes only from God breathing life into areas that Satan has tried to kill.  The following is a testimony from one who came to Wings for healing and is now serving and giving back to others through this ministry.....

"My husband likes me a lot better. I like me a lot better."  Yes, a real transformation is taking place in me, one that brings healing, peace, joy, and love.  I had forgotten what those were.  I did not truly even know what they were until I began to learn who God really is.  A couple of years ago I had a lot of fear, confusion, anger, frustration, unworthiness, self-righteousness and pride in me, just to name a few.  Not surprisingly it showed, affecting all my relationships.  A friend of mine saw my pain and gave me the phone number for Lisa Marie, for Wings.  She said that this place does healing through prayer ministry.  I knew that was what I needed, I called.  There were many obstacles to overcome, but the quote in the prayer room says it well - "The day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom in the Son's light."  Many twisted lies and strongholds gripped my heart and soul.  I didn't even know about God's spirit in me!

This ministry became the tool God used to free me to become more of the person He designed me to be.  Powerful, anointed prayers were lifted giving thanks to God.  I acknowledged submission to the authority of Jesus and the power of the cross, repented of the lies I believed, learned so much through the healing power of forgiveness, learned to speak the truth with His Word, and began to live.  There was deliverance!  I had no idea how consumed I had become by my ungodly beliefs.  I'm continuing
